Can you go paragliding in Carinthia in winter?

Yes, when the weather is right. We then take off on the Gerlitzen or at the Dreiländereck.

Is there a separate winter flight?

No. The Panorama flight and Thermal flight run all year round, as long as wind and visibility are right.

How cold is it when flying in winter?

At take-off about 10 to 15 degrees colder than in the valley, plus the wind from flying. Warm, windproof clothing and gloves are a must.

Can I give a voucher for a winter flight?

Every voucher is valid for three years. The person you give it to chooses their own date, in winter or in summer.

We fly in winter too, when the weather allows. Depending on conditions, we take off on the Gerlitzen or at our second site, the Dreiländereck (Three Countries Corner). The Panorama flight and Thermal flight run all year round, so there's no separate winter flight to book.

Two sites in winter

Our main site is the Gerlitzen Alpe. In winter, depending on the weather, we also choose the Dreiländereck. You book the flight, not the site. If we take off at the Dreiländereck, we tell you the meeting point when we confirm your flight.

Dress right

At take-off it's about 10 to 15 degrees colder than in the valley, plus the wind from flying at about 40 km/h. What helps:

A warm, windproof jacket and long trousers
Gloves and a thin hat under your helmet
Sturdy, non-slip winter shoes
Sunglasses: the snow is dazzling

Planning in winter

In winter the days are shorter and the weather is more changeable. So book early in your holiday and keep a backup day free. If the weather isn't right, we move your date free of charge. You can see current conditions on our flight conditions page.
