- I am afraid of heights — can I still fly?
- A clear yes! Almost everyone with a fear of heights finds the tandem flight surprisingly pleasant, because gliding feels quite different from standing on solid ground.
- What should I bring?
- Sturdy shoes, a windproof jacket, your sunglasses and money for the lift ticket — with the Kärnten Card the ride up is free.
- Is the gondola ride included in the price?
- No, the gondola ride is not included in the flight price and is paid separately. Tip: with the Kärnten Card the ride up is free.
- How cold is it during the flight?
- Expect around 10–15 degrees less than at the landing field, plus about 40 km/h of airflow — in autumn and winter we recommend warm clothing, gloves and a windproof jacket.
- From what age can children fly along?
- From the age of 5, with the consent of a parent or guardian. The minimum and maximum weight is 20–120 kg.
- Where do you land on the tandem flight?
- We land on our own landing field in Bodensdorf right at Lake Ossiach – not on a public meadow. Parking, free lake access and the lido are right next door.
- Do you really fly across the lake?
- Yes. Our route leads from Gerlitzen Alpe in an arc across the middle of Lake Ossiach and ends at our own landing field in Bodensdorf. The water is directly below you for a large part of the flight.
- What happens if the weather is bad?
- We only fly in safe conditions. If the weather does not fit, we reschedule your slot free of charge. So book early in your holiday – that leaves time for a back-up day.
- Is Adventure-Wings part of other providers at the lake?
- No. We are an independent company with our own team of four pilots and our own landing site in Bodensdorf. When booking, look for our name and our logo.
- Do you fly in winter as well?
- Yes – we also fly in winter when the weather allows. There is no separate winter flight: the panorama flight and the thermal flight run all year round whenever wind and visibility are right.
